How will my order be shipped?
Small packages are usually delivered by United Parcel Service (UPS) or Federal Express (Fedex). Larger items will be shipped by truck or common carrier. Although we are not able to pre-arrange delivery on a specific day or at a specific time, we will notify the common carrier to contact you prior to delivery. Common carrier shipments are curbside deliveries. In some cases white-glove service is available for an additional cost.
Please make arrangements to assist with
unloading at the time of delivery. We must know which models and how many of
each model you wish to purchase in order to quote delivery charges. An in-house
delivery can be arranged on some furniture and appliance shipments. Quotes on
the cost of the in-house delivery service are available when you place your order.
When do I
pay for shipping?
Shipping and handling charges are quoted during the ordering process and ONLY cover ground shipment within the continental 48 states. Your order can only be shipped freight prepaid, no third party shipping normally. Should the carrier request payment for a freight shipment in error, please contact us immediately. We can also offer on most products overnight, 2nd day or 3rd day courier service, but they are very expensive compared to ground. Call 1-312-602-2652 if you require this option.
Shipping outside the continental US, or to Alaska or Hawaii:
We normally ship orders only to a valid US street address in the continental 48 United States. If you have a US mailing address, the price we charge for the order created online will apply. For all other destinations, ADDITIONAL POSTAGE OR FREIGHT IS REQUIRED ABOVE THE INITITAL ORDER TOTAL calculated on the website. We can ship most items anywhere in the world with our "one-stop" ship international or non-mainland forwarding through our California facilities. However, it will require an additional charge to cover the Airmail Postage from California (ZIP 93611) to your country. The cost to get it TO OUR OFFICE is calculated when selecting "SHIP OUTSIDE THE US" option from the pull down menu when ordering. The cost of shipping internationally is OVER AND ABOVE that cost.
BE AWARE, the Post Office WILL NOT accept any items greater than 70 pounds shipping weight. In addition, Express and Priority Mail must be less than 108 inches maximum girth. GIRTH is defined as LENGTH + DISTANCE AROUND THE WIDEST PART. Normally the GIRTH formula is LENGTH + 2 x (WIDTH+HEIGHT). In addition, many large dimension or bulky items, plus certain chemical and HAZMAT products, are also NOT shippable through the Post Office.
From our California office (ZIP 93611), we can also use YOUR corporate FedEx or UPS account to ship it to your country, but we will need faxed authorization on company letterhead to use this method. Alternately, if you prefer the postal option (cheaper but a bit slower), we will use the Priority Mail service of the Post Office, which normally is 6-10 days. We cannot quote an exact price or delivery date as it depends on weight, dimensions, location, and type of service. We DO NOT mark up this postage cost, merely charge your card exactly what the post office charges us.
You can go to www.usps.com site and calculate an "estimated postage" from the US to your country. Be aware that this is only a "rough estimate", not a guaranteed price. From the top menu bar on their home page click "Calculate Postage" then "Calculate International Postage". Select DESTINATION first in the top pull-down menu item (it defaults to Abu Dhabi if you do not pick your country DESTINATION!). After picking your country, then select PACKAGE and enter the weight, then hit CONTINUE. Product weights are listed on the individual product pages on our website. You must determine the proper box size as well the total weight to get a good estimated cost. LARGE FLAT RATE boxes are 12x12x5.5 inches. SMALL FLAT RATE boxes are either 11x8.5x5.5 inches or 11.8x3.3x13.6 inches. ANYTHING NOT fitting into the FLAT RATE boxes are rated by the rate on the line ABOVE the LARGE FLAT RATE and go BY WEIGHT ONLY, provided the GIRTH is under 108 inches. All shipments are insured, which adds a bit to the net postage cost for items over $100 in value (See ADD EXTRA SERVICES). Normally this roughly 6-10 day air is by far the most cost effective choice. It is always less than FedEx or UPS. PRIORITY MAIL is available for the most economical overseas postal shipments. GLOBAL EXPRESS and EXPRESS MAIL are faster options, but cost significantly more money.
If you have a US ship-to address, that always works best. However, we are willing to use YOUR courier account as described above, but you are liable for all charges. If you are willing to pay this additional postage or courier, please call us at 1-312-602-2652 or send an email to email@example.com confirming acceptance after placing your order, ALONG WITH the credit card information you want the postage charged to (card, expiry, and security code). YOU MUST SPECIFY THE CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND CODE AGAIN as we do not keep a copy of your credit card data on our system.
